Ordering food with friends and family just got a whole lot easier! Zomato, the popular food delivery app, has rolled out an exciting new feature designed to simplify group orders.
Imagine being able to compile everyone’s meal choices without the hassle of passing your phone around.
Thanks to Zomato's innovative approach, group ordering is now seamless, fun, and more convenient than ever before.
In this blog, we'll delve into how this feature works, its benefits, and what it means for your next get-together.
Zomato’s New Group Ordering Feature
In a recent announcement on social media, Zomato’s CEO, Deepinder Goyal, introduced a feature that allows multiple people to add items to a single order with ease.
The new group ordering function aims to remove the common frustration of collecting everyone's orders, especially during house parties, casual get-togethers, or even office lunches.
“You can now share a link with your friends, and everyone can add to the cart seamlessly, making ordering together faster and easier. No more passing the phone around awkwardly to collect everyone's order,”
Goyal stated in his tweet.
This exciting feature reflects Zomato’s commitment to continuously improving the user experience and catering to the needs of its customers.
How Does It Work?
Using Zomato’s group ordering feature is straightforward and intuitive:
Initiating the Order: One person starts by selecting a restaurant and adding the first item to the cart.
Generating a Shareable Link: After adding the first item, a link is generated that can be shared with others in the group.
Adding to the Cart: Friends or family members click on the link, browse the menu, and add their preferred dishes directly to the shared cart.
Reviewing and Finalizing the Order: Once everyone has added their choices, the person who initiated the order can review the combined selections and proceed with payment.
This process not only saves time but also makes group meals more enjoyable by eliminating the typical back-and-forth required to finalize an order.
Why It Matters: Enhancing the Group Dining Experience
Zomato’s new feature is designed to make group meals more enjoyable and stress-free. Whether you're hosting a house party, coordinating an office lunch, or just catching up with friends, this feature streamlines the ordering process, making it more collaborative and less cumbersome.
According to Goyal, the feature is being gradually rolled out to all users, and Zomato encourages those who have access to try it out and provide feedback.
